The Analects

The analects are readings that show us the importance of having and living a moral life. They were written by Confucius, a Chinese philosopher. In his writings we can notice the use of aphorisms, which are short statements that express general principles. With these statements we can learn all the benefits that a moral life can have and all we can do by living one.

We really liked to read “The Analects”, because we learn that it is always better to be nice with everyone and that by not having evil thoughts we can reach anything we want. However, everything we do has to be done for our self improvement and not for impressing anyone else. The Analects also show the importance of respecting the authority and the most important, our parents. We have to try hard to make them proud about us and do not make them have any anxiety. But do not ever forget that if you want to reach something you have to give more of yourself and less from the others.
